On January 21, 2026, the Prison Monitoring Group president Sergey Gabrieyan and the Group’s members Shushan Khnkoyan, Arman Sahakyan and Mariam Antonyan had a meeting with the head of the of the “Penitentiary Medicine Center” SNGO Kamo Manukyan and other representatives. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues related to the provision of medical care within the penitentiary system. During the discussion, the parties addressed the accessibility of medical care for people kept in criminal-executive institutions, obstacles arising in the course of medical services, as well as issues related to the provision of health-related personal information and the limitations thereof. The meeting emphasized the importance of expanding and strengthening cooperation between the two parties. An agreement was reached to organize joint visits to penitentiary institutions in order to familiarize themselves with the situation on site and to find practical solutions to existing problems. At the same time, the parties agreed to ensure fast communication in urgent cases through telephone calls.
